Grant Benson is a survey director with the proposal development group and also holds an adjunct position with the Statistics and Methods Unit. He has presented on comparative privacy regulations, responsive design, and paradata uses for data quality evaluation, among many other topics. In addition to serving on the proposal development group, Grant has managed the University of Michigan survey services lab (SSL), large and small scale national studies including the National Survey of Family Growth, the National Football League’s Retired Player’s Study, the American National Election Studies, and the U.S. Army Deployment, Resilience, and Retention Study. Grant further provides on-going consultation to the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe, as well as the Cross-Cultural Survey Guidelines. His current interests include cost modeling, paradata analysis, and measuring and affecting interviewer behavior.
