The Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research is a community of faculty, staff and students that serves the public interest by conducting research integrated with state-of-the-art data collection and analysis, developing social and behavioral research methods, and training leaders in survey and data science.

Education and Well-Being (EWB)

The Education and Well-Being (EWB) program was established in 2008 to advance research focused on improving the teaching of reading and mathematics, particularly in schools serving high percentages of students in poverty. Contributions of EWB include the development of innovative methods for studying the “inner workings” of schools and strengthening the role of survey research in education.

The James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics (CID) was founded at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research in 2019.
