Assessing Public Engagement in the Arab World

The University of Michigan Survey Research Center staff, under the guidance of Zeina Mneimneh, will provide methodological support to improve the quality of data collected in the Arab Barometer. The University of Michigan Survey Research Center staff will work in close coordination with Princeton University, including the Arab Barometer Project Director and Senior Research Specialists throughout the survey process. This will include regular meetings to discuss progress and provide technical advice to the Arab Barometer team.

Key activities will include an assessment of existing design and implementation activities in the Arab Barometer and advice on methodological experiments and innovations that could improve the existing survey activities. Specific areas of work will include coverage property of the existing samples, sample design quality, questionnaire translation and adaptation protocols, non-response adjustments procedures, and field work quality control.
