The Survey Research Center (“SRC”) of the University’s Institute for Social Research (“ISR”) produces the Consumer Sentiment Index (“the Index”), which is a number that measures consumer perceptions about the economy at present and in the future. A preliminary monthly Index figure is released mid-month and the final monthly figure is released at the end of each month.
The Index is currently distributed by the University in a partnership with Reuters. On August 29, 2006, Reuters and the University entered into a Data Co-Branding and Distribution Agreement (“Agreement”), as amended, which provides that Reuters will pay the University in exchange for, among other things, Reuters becoming the sole distribution point of the Index and supporting data. Reuters then provides this information to subscribers for a fee.
This serves to confirm that Reuters and the University have agreed to extend the “agreement” of the Restated and Amended Data Co-Branding and Distribution Agreement for two additional years, January 1st, 2013 through December 31st, 2014 under the same terms and conditions as the 2010 contract.
