Biography

Dr. Brenner’s research interests are in racial/ethnic and intersectional health disparities, with a particular interest in the contribution of exposure to chronic stress across the life course as a fundamental cause of health disparities. Her current research focuses on how health disparities occur via a psychological and physiological stress process. She is also interested in racial disparities in disability among older adults, and factors that are associated with the disparities, including the economic, social and physical neighborhood context.
