Stephanie M. Carpenter is the Associate Director of the Data Science for Dynamic Intervention Decision-Making (d3) lab and a Fellow in the Quantitative Methodology Program at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research Survey Research Center. She was previously an NIMH Postdoctoral Trainee in Emotion Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A decision and affective scientist by training, Stephanie received a joint Ph.D. in Social Psychology and Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and B.A. and M.S. degrees in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Her research examines the role of emotion and cognition in decision behavior. Much of her ongoing research is focused on developing strategies to promote engagement in adaptive health behavior change interventions.
